Langley Hall Wedding, Norfolk – Jess & Alex
WHERE WAS IT?
We got married at Langley school which is where we met and used the private chapel in the grounds and then had a marquee at the back of the Hall on the old grass tennis courts.
We didn’t really have a theme but we both wanted a really relaxed affair so it was along the lines of a quintessential English garden party with a few sentimental touches.
WEDDING PLANNER/EVENT MANAGER
Alex and I did all of the planning ourselves really, with input from close friends and family. We wanted it to be really unfussy so chose companies who made everything super easy!
I hated dress shopping but finally found the dress in La Creme, Norwich. They were just beyond excellent and I ended up with a lace Pronovias gown which was perfect. The bridesmaids were in beautiful beaded Adrianna Pappell gowns which looked incredible.
My hair as well as the bridesmaids was done by a friend who had been cutting my hair for years and is just incredible.
My make-up was done by the lovely girls at Rosies Beauticians in Beccles.
We had tried really hard to try and keep most of the details of the wedding to keep everything as local as possible and the flowers no exception. We used Broome Beck Flower Farm who were incredible and grew the majority of the flowers only a few miles away from where we live. Lucy and her team were beyond brilliant and made everything so easy. I utterly love Peonies which were heavily incorporated into the day and worked really well with the beautiful array grown the in fields.
We chose a really simple cake from Marks and Spencers and we also had a macaroon tower made by Macaroons and More – we’re addicted to macaroons so wanted to add them into our day.
The food was beyond brilliant! We couldn’t have wished for better food and Nick was fabulous at organising everything behind the scenes as well. We used Brasteds in Framlingham Pigot who did all of the food from the canapes through to the evening nibbles.
A key part of our plan was to ensure there was an incredible band who could get everyone up and dancing so we had The Joe Ringer Band who were fab!
They played our first dance song which was ‘Come To Me’ by the Goo Goo Dolls after seeing them in concert.
We spent 11 nights in Mauritius at the rather appropriately named ‘Paradise Cove’ hotel.
