Last week, with a fantastically busy wedding season starting to wind down, it was time to get away. Over the last 12 years Cornwall has become a virtual second home to us and we always retreat there when we need to recharge the batteries. With only one day of rain and south westerly winds Neptune was kind to us and delivered plenty of swell giving us seven out of eight days surfing, absolute heaven. In the short time between surfs I managed to grab the odd shot here and there including a few experiments with shutter drag. It was nice to shoot at the beach again after such a long break although I did miss my old 100-400mm telephoto lens (business sense forced a part exchange for a faster 70-200mm, sigh!) Here’s a handful of my favourites, hope you like them…

Beach Stream, Porthtowan

If you’re thinking of visiting the “Badlands” south of Newquay check these out: The Taphouse, St Agnes, The Blue Bar, Porthtowan, The Driftwood Spars, Argantel S/C Accommodation, Finisterre
If you’re interested in surfing this is definitely worth checking out- some of the best I’ve ever seen: The Kelly (and Mick) Show. Filmed on the same day as some of the above shots were taken by UK surf photog Sharpy (click to visit his blog)…
