A couple of weeks ago I covered Ann and Simon’s wedding at the magnificent Woolverstone Hall in Suffolk. This stately venue is now the home of Ipswich High School for Girls of which Ann is a former pupil. The earlier BBC weather forecast that morning indicated the likelihood of the day being a total wash-out with my drive south on the A140 through a torrential downpour confirming the worst. However, by the time I reached Ann’s parent’s house to shoot the bridal prep’ the skies had brightened and rain passed through. After the service at St Michaels’ in Woolverstone Ann, Simon and their guests enjoyed a short walk across the parkland grounds back to the hall, providing some great perspectives for casual shots of the happy couple. The hall itself threw up many locations and, as the rain had stayed away, we made full use of the sweeping vista behind the hall that overlooks the Orwell Estuary. Unsurprisingly the theme for the reception had a retro, school days theme complete with blackboard signage for all the table names lending an appropriate sense of fun to the evening festivities.
