Wow, what a great but exhausting weekend! It’s now Monday and as I sit here to add the latest post I’m on what feels like my 100th coffee of the day! It all began with a 5:30am start on Saturday to appear on the local BBC Radio show – Wake Up with Whiteley. Tom Ginn manager of Fritton House Hotel and I were guests on David’s breakfast show to talk about yesterday’s wedding fair and the “art” of wedding photography. It was good fun and both Tom and I got the chance to talk about the industry and plug our businesses a little. Thanks to David and his Producer Graham for making us feel so welcome. You can listen to the interview by following this link to BBC iPlayer and fast forwarding to around 1:10:20.
Afterwards it was a dash home to shower, shave and change before heading out on the first wedding of the season. I’m not going to go into any details yet as this will be subject to it’s own post in later this week though I will say it was a great one to kick-off with.
Yesterday saw another early-ish start (would have been earlier thanks to Mr Adnams!) to set up my stand at the above mentioned Fritton House Wedding Fair in association with Heart Radio. After a frantic hour of prep the doors were opened on to what proved to be a really fantastic day. There were many highlights not least the £10,000 wedding giveaway prize draw and two bridal catwalk shows which went down an absolute storm with the crowd. Although I was there to show my work and meet prospective clients I did take five minutes to shoot the event, including the stunning models from Sandra Reynolds, as you can see below. The wonderful gowns were supplied by La Belle Angele while the team at Robert Owen and Pure Care were on hand to make sure the make-up and hair were top notch. Tom, Nikki and the rest of the staff at Fritton did a brilliant job organising the day which was a huge success (at least 1000 visitors by my estimates) so hopefully it will be the first of many.
Lastly I’ve got to say a big thank you to my wife Rachel who without her help this weekend would have been even more stressful nay impossible. I’m incredibly grateful for her holding everything together and giving up her weekend off to support me. Thank you, big hugs, XXX!
